Delusion #103: Tarkin's Tradition by Rish Outfield

Rish and Marshal present Rish's Thanksgiving-inspired tale, "Tarkin's Tradition," where Imperial dignitaries (and a stormtrooper) gather on the Death Star at the behest of Grand Moff Tarkin to share appreciation.

Author's Note: The character of Greejatus, while indeed an Imperial Dignitary in RETURN OF THE JEDI, is actually based on the physical appearance of Sim Aloo, played by Anthony Lang, who received an action figure in 1985.  Unfortunately, the name later given this character was so inexcusably stupid . . . that it was unacceptable for use in this sketch.  Hence, the name was switched with the other prominent Imperial Dignitary.  I'm a writer, not a monster.

Journey #191 - With A Banjo On My Knee by Rish Outfield (3rd Place Quordle Quell Writing Contest Winner)

Garrett McClaren picks up an old banjo in an alley after watching the murder of who he thinks was its previous owner.  Despite that, he feels compelled to learn how to play it and discovers not is all as it seems.

Cast of characters:
Dave Thompson as Garret McClaren
Rish Outfield as Kyvin Grandine
Keith Teklits as Brad Kramer
Renee Chambliss as Belva Stone
Bria Burton as LaTonya Erinsen
Big Anklevich as Cal Hickson
Gino Morretto as the Columbia Records executive
Marshal Latham as the narrator, and assorted voices

Rish Outfield is a writer, voice actor, and imitator of the late Sean Connery.  He's a fan of the Star Wars Trilogy, Eighties music, and those horror movies your mother insisted you not watch for fear of what they'd do to you (turns out she was right about that one).  He's the former co-host of the Dunesteef Audio Fiction Magazine podcast, and his own show, the Rish Outcast.  Born with an oddly-shaped birthmark and a lack of the vital section of the brain that produces ambition, he could still live a somewhat-full life, if only he'd get up and do something once in a w--oh no, he's gone to sleep again.

Delusion #61 - The Mandalorian S1, Eps 4-6 & "Most Feared in the Galaxy", Part 2

Rish Outfield and Marshal Latham raced against time to try to get a new DoG episode out talking about Chapters 4-6 of The Mandalorian before being inundated by THE RISE OF SKYWALKER.  Rish even used the Force to edit this Giant-Sided conversation in record time.  It's like he took on the entire First Order with a laser sword.

But wait...there's more.  We also present the second half of Rish's "Most Feared In The Galaxy" featuring the voice of Marshal Latham as the most important character in the story, the droid 0-KE.

Fact Checker:
  • Admiral Amilyn Holdo from THE LAST JEDI was indeed the teenage friend of Princess Leia as written in Claudia Gray's novel Leia: Princess of Alderaan.
  • According to an article on Screen Rant: "In Holdo's introductory scene (her speech to the Resistance), [Rian] Johnson described the initial version of the admiral as 'hippy dippy' in order to illustrate how her leadership style contrasts with others we've seen. Later on, he became concerned Laura Dern's performance was 'too spacey' and decided to retool her characterization to make it stronger... Holdo is a primary supporting character in [Gray's novel], where these oddball qualities really shine through. The book depicts Holdo as almost Star Wars' answer to Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter, but those traits aren't as apparent in the movie."

Journey #74 - Outgoing Transmissions by Rish Outfield

The following are transmissions intercepted by a Bothan surveillance vessel in the weeks leading up to the historic Battle of Yavin.

To download, right-click here and then click Save

For five ignominious years now, Rish Outfield has been co-host of the Dunesteef Audio Fiction Magazine, which occasionally still produces full cast short stories and lengthy banter with Big Anklevich. Lately, Rish has lent his voice to many audio dramas, lent his stories to many podcasts, and lent his soul to the horned black Beast himself. He has tried his hand at narrating audiobooks, some of which are available at Audible.com, and has tried his voice at singing karaoke songs, some of which are available in your most upsetting fever dreams. The Force is with him . . . but he is not a Jedi yet.

Keith Rainey, who narrated this story, is a senior system controls engineer who lives in Oregon with his family.  His midi-chlorian count is pretty high, but it remains uncertain whether he can bring balance to the Force.
